Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle

Half-day excursion

Visiting one of the largest caves in the world is an unforgettable experience. We will visit just a part of the 20 km of tunnels and underground galleries. The tour starts entering by train to the Gothic and the Congress Hall. At the Big Mountain we will get off the train and continue on foot, discovering different rooms that are named after the colours that predominate in each of them. Stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, organs, spaghetti and the Russian Bridge are just some of the symbols of the cave. Before our way back, we will get to know the human fish, an endemic animal in this part of the world. Then we will visit the Castle Predjama that hangs on the rock and resembles a fairy tale castle. The most famous owner was the knight Erasmus who lived and died in this castle. Every year a medieval tournament is organized in his honour. Back to Ljubljana.
